In conversation with Robin Kelsey, Shirley Carter Burden Professor of Photography at Harvard, Karin Stack will discuss her exhibition, “The Grass is Green.” Stack’s landscapes explore a variety of media and methods. “I find it natural to hybridize, to move back and forth using all the techniques and possibilities that coexist, from historic technologies to current printing and digital tools.” It is often difficult to detect fact from fiction, truth from untruths, in Stack’s work. “I enjoy the act of deception, verisimilitude, trompe l’oeil, and most of all, the moments when these devices fall short, when the imperfect hand is revealed. They’re all games, and I can’t wait to talk to Professor Kelsey on Friday to see what we can uncover.”
The conversation between Karin Stack and Robin Kelsey, Shirley Carter Burden Professor of Photography at Harvard University, begins at 5PM, MCLA Gallery 51.
