NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The city’s 16th annual Downtown Celebration will be held Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 9 on Main, Holden and Eagle streets.
The yearly block party brings thousands to Main Street for food, shopping, entertainment and conversation.
More than 75 participants, including local merchants, vendors, restaurants and organizations, are expected this year, offering refreshments, games, crafts, raffles and information.
Northern Berkshire Community Coalition and Childcare of the Berkshires will host a children’s area at the mouth of the Steeple City Plaza parking lot and Downstreet Art will host a series of activities for all ages at in the downtown galleries. Local historian Paul Marino will conduct a tour beginning at 5 near Subway on West Main Street.
Bands will include Boomstick!, C.J. Field, Champagne Jam, Jack Waldheim and Kardia. Performers will include Jane Peck, Berkshire Dance Theater, Berkshire Line Dancers, J Star Gymnastics, Zumba of the Berkshires and a few surprises.
This event is free and open to the public. In the event of rain, the celebration will be held Thursday, Aug. 18.
