Each year, DownStreet Art partners with downtown businesses to place art in local spaces. Work can be viewed during normal business hours and can be purchased online through DownStreet Art.

100 hours in the Woodshed (original concept Danny O & Scott Zieher 1988) is a marathon collage experience in which 15-20 invited artists create new work during an intense 100 hour period. The design lab will be open to the public to view the artists at work during the following hours:
June 22 – 8pm – midnight; June 23 – 10am – midnight; June 24 – 10am – 2am; June 25 – 10am – midnight; June 26 – 10am – midnight

Sarah Sutro | June 23 – Sept 20
Sarah is a North Adams painter who has focused recently on ink drawings and watermedia. She is an internationally known painter and writer whose work has been exhibited in the US and abroad. She has been a recipient and finalist for many grants and fellowships. A recent Robert Frost Poetry Award finalist, Sutro’s poetry, reviews and essays have been published in magazines and on-line journals. Her recent book COLORS: Passages through Art, Asia and Nature, published by Blue Asia Press, is available through Amazon.com. and has taught at the college level for 30 years.

Common Folk Artist Collective
A play on the phase Boom Town, an exhibition about hope, growth, beauty, and a reference to the physical and metaphysical blooming of North Adams.
Common Folk Artist Collective is a team of artists that is working to revitalize the creative economy of North Adams, MA by exploring ways to address community needs. Their goal is to provide artists of all mediums the resources, knowledge, education, tools, support, and space to grow within their art. Members believe art is not just a form of entertainment, but can be a catalyst for change.
